Young engineer Simon Langdale has recently achieved Chartered Status with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
Simon joined Synthotech as a Mechanical Engineer in 2010 having graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in Automotive. His first project in the Synthotech Research & Development Team was to further develop SynthoCam – a system now in use by all UK gas distribution networks, and several overseas networks.
The variety of highly innovative engineering projects being delivered by Synthotech gave Simon the diverse experience needed to become eligible for Chartered status. In addition to theoretical engineering experience, the on-site manufacturing facility at Synthotech enabled Simon to see his designs turned into fully commercialised products, sold around the UK and internationally.
Simon is currently Lead Engineer on the TORS (Tier One Replacement System) Project which is now being fully tested prior to commercialisation later this year.
