I-Seal is a proven live gas repair solution designed to seal leaking threaded joints on metallic gas pipework without interrupting customer supply. Approved by National Grid as a semi-permanent repair method, the system provides gas network operators and utility contractors with a practical alternative to costly pipe replacement and service shutdowns.
Suitable for use on ¾” to 6″ diameter metallic pipework, the I-Seal system works by injecting an anaerobic sealant directly into the leaking threaded joint through a dedicated delivery system comprising an I-Seal™ clip and non-return valve. Repairs can be completed under live gas conditions, eliminating the need to isolate supplies and minimising disruption for customers.
The system is particularly effective following inspections of mid-level and high-level riser systems, where leaking threaded joints can often result in extensive repair programs or full riser replacement. By providing a targeted repair solution, I-Seal helps utility operators reduce operational costs, extend asset life and improve customer satisfaction.
Approved for use on pressures up to 75 mbarg, the kit is supplied complete with a full range of clip sizes, a hand drill and a high-pressure hand pump, allowing technicians to carry out repairs efficiently with a single operator.
For gas network operators seeking a safe, cost-effective method of repairing leaking threaded joints, the I-Seal offers a reliable solution that reduces downtime, avoids unnecessary replacement work and maintains continuity of supply.
