Earlier this week, Cadent Gas Leicester faced a difficult challenger when a water pipe burst, leaving 3,500 of Cadent’s customers without gas in Ratby Village and surrounding areas.
The water from the burst pipe penetrated the nearby gas pipes, so members from the Synthotech team soon came to assist in rectifying the situation.
Simon Langdale and Andrew Sparkes leaped to the rescue, delivering a loan camera on Saturday and then our WExTech M-LTE with our S4 camera system attached.
Our WExTech M-LTE kit proved invaluable, enabling us to suck out water from the gas pipes while maintaining visibility with the camera still in place. This allowed us to pinpoint areas where water pockets formed, keeping customers from accessing gas. It’s a real game-changer!
As of now, the situation is improving, but there are still 600 customers awaiting restoration. We’re working tirelessly to ensure everyone gets back online as soon as possible. Stay tuned for updates!
