Synthotech has had a brilliant few days attending and speaking at the 28th World Gas Conference in Daegu, South Korea.
The opening speech from Ban Ki-Moon really set the scene and urgency for an event highly focused on net-zero, hydrogen and LNG expansion.
It’s evident that there is a range of solutions that we need to adapt to at a fast pace to have any chance of meeting the climate goals that we have set. Gas has an incredibly pivotal role, whether it be hydrogen or biogas. What is especially promising is the potential for negative emissions gas through the combination of biogas with hydrogen production and CCUS.
We’ve really enjoyed being able to meet with so many people at World Gas Conference from large gas companies, as well as novel start-ups pioneering green hydrogen solutions.
This Friday, our very own Engineering Director, Simon Langdale, presented our robotics systems for targeting low-cost leakage detection and repair for methane abatement and hydrogen transition. It’s been really good to share our understanding of the problems we face, our approach and to have these verified and critiqued by a great global audience of professionals and experts.

We’d also like to pass on our thanks to our hosts during our stay at World Gas Conference, who have been so very welcoming in Daegu.
